Vada made with Tapioca pearls
A time-consuming yet great snack to make on special occasions and tea-time. Soaking and straining the tapioca pearls or sabudana and mixing with few tasty ingredients will surely be a hit with people and a conversation starter.
Makes 20 Vadas.
Ingredients:
1 cup sabudana
1/2 cup roasted peanuts, crushed coarsely
1 potato boiled, peeled, and mashed
7-8 green chilies minced
2 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
salt to taste
oil to deep fry
Method:
Wash sabudana and soak overnight. The next morning, drain water using strainer. Leave sabudana in the strainer for 3-4 hours.
Combine all ingredients except oil to deep fry and knead like dough to mix evenly.
Make dough balls and press gently with greased hands to flatten and deep fry in oil on medium flame.
Serve with cilantro-mint chutney!
