Rasedar Aloo

Easy and comforting dish.

 

This recipe serves 4-5 people.


Ingredients:

  • 3 potatoes peeled and cubed

  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes

  • 1 tbsp minced ginger

  • 1 tbsp coriander-cumin powder

  • 1/4 tsp hing (asafatida)

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder

  • 1/2 tsp garam masala (can omit if needed)

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • 2 tbsps oil

  • salt to taste

  • cilantro to garnish


Method:


I have used Instant Pot to make this dish. A pressure cooker can also be used.

  1. Sauté all dry masalas in oil in instant pot.

  2. Add ginger and fry for a minute.

  3. Add potatoes and fry for 2 minutes.

  4. Add tomatoes. Mix and fry well.

  5. Add salt to taste and pressure cook until potatoes are soft (about 15 minutes).

  6. Garnish with lime juice and cilantro

  7. Serve with rotis, pooris, or rice.
