Poori

Also known as deep-fried bread.

Poori is a versatile bread that can be served at time of the day. My children's

eyes twinkled when they came home from school and saw a plate full of pooris and curry.

 

Makes 16 pooris.


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of atta (whole wheat powder)

  • 1/4 cup fine semolina

  • oil to deep fry

  • salt to taste

  • warm water

Method:

  1. Mix ingredients using enough water to make dough.

  2. Grease your hands with little ghee and knead for 10 minutes.

  3. Cover and keep it aside for 30 minutes.

  4. Make golf-sized balls and roll out in round shapes.

  5. Deep fry in hot oil. Serve with curry of your choice.
