Paratha/ Roti made with liquid dough
This is my take on the latest trend: liquid paratha/roti which is basically cheela made with whole wheat flour instead of gram flour (besan). It is relatively easy to make since you don't have to knead the whole wheat flour into the dough. The basic ingredients remain the same and I have also added different stuffings to give it flavor and taste. As shown in the picture, I have made paratha out of garlic, carrot, and beetroot. In a similar way you can make a spinach or potato paratha too.
Makes 10 parathas in total
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
salt to taste
1 tbsp melted butter
enough water to make batter
2-3 garlic cloves minced
1 tbsp minced cilantro
1 tsp red chili flakes
2 tbsps grated carrot
2-3 minced green chili
2 tbsps grated beetroot
oil to roast
Method:
Mix flour, salt, melted butter and water to make batter. consistency should be like pancake/dosa batter.
Add the desired filling into the batter. I divided into three portions and added three different fillings. The first portion consisted of garlic, red chili flakes and cilantro. The second portion consisted of grated beetroot and green chili. The third portion consisted of grated carrot and green chili.
Spread a ladleful of batter on medium hot pan. Cook evenly on both sides by adding spoonful of oil.
Serve hot with curry of your choice.
