A way to sneak in beetroot in a wholesome multigrain roti.
We all know that children are not a fan of beetroot, I know my children are not. This is because of the off-putting taste of beetroot that is there in most cooked dishes. However, this roti, when paired with a curry of your choice, will not have such a strong flavor. The amount of beetroot can be added according to your taste.
This recipe makes 8-10 rotis.
Ingredients:
1 cup whole wheat atta (flour)
1/4 cup besan (chickpea flour)
1/4 cup jowar (sorghum flour)
1/4 - 1/2 cup raw grated beetroot
1 green chili
1/2 tsp ginger paste
1/2 tsp coriander-cumin powder
1 tsp hot oil
salt to taste
Method:
Mix all ingredients.
Knead thoroughly, adding water to form a dough, if necessary.
Leave dough covered for 10 minutes.
Make rotis!
Enjoy with curry of choice.
