Simple everyday curry to eat with rice.
Serves 4 people.
Ingredients:
1/2 lb green beans
2-3 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp urad daal (split black gram)
1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds)
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
3 dried red chili
1/4 tsp turmeric
1 sprig curry leaves
salt to taste
Method:
Wash and cut beans into small pieces.
Roast sesame seeds and dried red chili and powder them together. Alternately we can use Tahini paste and add chili in tempering.
Heat oil in pan and fry urad daal, jeera and mustard seeds. After a minute, add chopped curry leaves.
Sauté beans for 2 minutes. Cover and let it cook on medium heat until done.
Add powdered sesame seeds or tahini paste, turmeric, and salt.
Cook covered for 2 minutes and turn off the stove.
Serve hot with rice.
